Ohhh you know . . . just a day in the park :)

Stonehenge & Bath

Stonehenge

Okay . . . So, we went to see the little sheep
and then I looked at what I was wearing and felt really bad
Sorry sheepy

We found a Secret Garden in Bath and it was a perfect haven.
Hayles, Britty, Kails and I sat at this little coffee hut and
drank hot chocolate in the rain. It goes down as one of
the best spots I've ever visited.

Here we are at the Roman Baths.
Can you believe people used to bathe in this water?

On Anon

10 PAGE PAPER DONE!!!! And it's time to celebrate!!! Mexican FiEStA 7pm!!! YIPEE SKIPPY!! Thanks Flat 20 for the wonderful feast!!! After that we all went to this new club called On Anon. We literally ran from our flat to the tube and then from the tube to the club in order to avoid the cover charge. 1.) I fell on the escalator (slightly embarrassing brought back memories of 4th grade at Nordstrom) 2.) All of us were sweating 3.) We got there and had to stand in line for a good 10 minutes – no running necessary. Oh well . . . we got our exercise in for the day! Fun night, but we didn’t in until late and had a VERY early rise. Bed at 3 wake-up at 7. No good. Oh well. TOP NIGHT LADIES TOP NIGHT

Note to Self

Taking a class that includes a 10 page paper, presentation, 100 pages of reading a night, and participation that counts for 40% of you grade is NOT a good idea while abroad. Just thought you all should know. The end. Back to my oh so stupid paper. I'll update soon.

PS. It's raining cats and dogs and I LOVE IT! It was like listening to ballerinas tapping on the roof last night! YAYYY I love London in the Fall! Looks like I'll be sending my rainbows home pretty soon :)

Gay Bar or Irish Pub???

Okayyyy... So here's the deal - All five of us are horribly tired. I'm not really sure why, but we are. However - there was no way in hell we were going to stay in tonight. So, we decided to try the little Irish Pub around the corner - literally, down the street and around the corner - dangerous. Anyway, I think we may have caught the gay pride night or something because there were WAY too many dashingly handsome guys and they were all dancing with one another and not us - DAMN. Oh well... Kavanagh's was pretty great. I think we'll go back sometime soon. They had a nice little mix of K-Earth and The Wave . . . perfect for Mom and Dad when they get here :) I have to say I missed my Shakiraaaaaaa Shakiraaaa hehe, but I'll be sure to make up for that tomorrow. Okay time for bed gotta rest up the dancing legs!

OH. PS. The man in this picture made my entire night. He was hysterical. I wish I had the courage to go up and do a little jig with him. Maybe next time ;)

The CA Girls Day in the Rain

Look at me #3 of the day! This may constitute that I am a rather large nerd or that I’m just trying to make up for my week of absence. Anyway, Hayles and I decided to throw on a jacket, pick up an umbrella and head out in the rain. We went to Covent Gardens and found the best shoe store ever! It’s called “Dune” and the shoes are reasonable, comfy, and very hip. I think Hayles and I will be going back very soon. We had a nice little stroll and then jumped back on the tube to go home. The tube was PACKED beyond belief. Don’t get me wrong I love London, but I’m not going to miss the smelly people when I come home! Today was the first time I was actually a little scared while riding the train. It just stopped for like 2 minutes (longest 120 seconds ever) and everyone panicked a little. I was so happy when it started up again and we made it safely to South Ken. Anyway, the rain has stopped! Blue skies! I think we’ll all start to enjoy our Friday pretty soon. I’ll be back with an update later! Happy weekend all!

Disappointed

PEOPLE . . . where are the updates ;)

Top of the Morning to You!

IT'S COLD!!!!

Hence the getup! It’s raining its pouring the old man is not snoring. No snoring is allowed due to this lovely rain because it bangs against the darn window and keeps you awake all night! Unlessssss you think ahead (like I did) and take some Tylenol PM to ensure an entire nights sleep free of random wake ups. Anyway, I don’t know what to do with myself today. Do I walk in the rain and go about my regular routine? Or sit inside and get cabin fever like Hayley who has already burnt two English muffins this morning and is now jumping in the kitchen and doing her usual Friday night routine. Hmmmmm. Okay I think I’m giggly already I don’t know why. This is silly especially because it’s 11:40 in the afternoon and all of you are sleeping. I’m going to stop rambling. Okay okay great. Love love

Internship!

OHH I FORGOT TO TELL YOU!! I got my internship and I'm working for a company called "Inn or Out." Silly isn't it? Anyway, it's an event planning company and sounds like a blast. Last year their Christmas party was in SWEDEN! Hopefully they'll love me and take me along for the ride this year too! I can't wait. I'm doing a dry run tomorrow on the tube to see how long it takes! I only have to take two lines, but it's south of the Thames. Shall be interesting! Check out the website www.inn-or-out.com when you get a chance :)

Not Too Shabby

Schooooooools out for the weeeekend.

WOOHOO 3 weeks down 3 weeks to go! These 3 ½ hour classes are really starting to get to me. You have no idea how long Media and Britain and the English Reformation can feel, but don’t worry BLC is still BEAUTIFUL! And by beautiful I mean my teacher. Wowee. He’s even cuter than before. I can’t wait ‘till Tuesday! AND we have a field trip! Anyway, sorry for being out of touch this week. Our flat was sick with the plague and school kind of hit hard this week which translates to . . . . I was really boring. Oh well . . . put that one behind me – I’M BACK!

Today I visited the quaintest little church in my English class. It was absolutely beautiful. I was a little embarrassed to take pictures with so many people, but I think I’ll go back soon and snap some shots.

After class we came home to wave goodbye to Dan, Kailey, Dave, and Joe who are in Amsterdam this weekend and then Hayles, Britty, Heeter and I hopped on the tube to Buckingham Palace (Drew was a bum and stayed home). The Palace is only open until Sunday so we wanted to make sure to check that one off our list before it was too late. I have never seen so much gold in my life. It was incredible! Every room had its own special character and theme. I learned all about it through my nice little head-phones dorkishly placed on my ears. ;) We saw 80 of the Queen’s dresses all sparkling with diamonds and her precious jewels. I couldn’t help but think that I was walking in the very same steps of all the Kings and Queens (Prince William too!!). The garden extended forever and Hayles and I were sure to snap a few shots! Yipee! OH YEAH! We had “Royal” strawberry ice-cream on our walk through the garden! Tasty!

After that we raced home to jump in the shower and we were off to see “Stomp.” As the brochure says, “‘Stomp’ is explosive, provocative, sophisticated, sexy, and utterly unique.” And that it is! I was in the front row (imagine that!) and had a huge smile on my face the whole time. It was out of control! They used every item except musical instruments to create some sort of rhythm. It was highly entertaining and if it ever comes your way you should defiantly give it a chance! Anyway, I am pooped beyond belief. My left eye is all red (very good indication that exhaustion is setting in). Soooo… all of you lucky ducks enjoy Grey’s Anatomy tonight. I’m so jealous you have no idea. It’s time for bed. Nigharoo and CHEERS to everyone!

Saturday Morning with the Girls

Does this look familiar? It's the bookstore in the movie "Notting Hill"!!! Yay
I saw a little kids book in the window titled "Katie in London" and went in to buy it pronto!
I couldn't help myself! And then I saw Madeline in London . . . bought that one too :)

Girls infront of the Travel Bookshop

We had a fantastic breakfast at Mike's Cafe. I found it fitting to take a picture of Kails because her boyfriend's name is Mike. Yay. Hands down the best meal I've had in the past two weeks.

Welcome to the absolute chaos of Portobello Street’s Saturday market. The four of us got up early this morning to take an adventure to Notting Hill. It was really fun. Beautiful jewelry, antiques, and lots of fresh fruit and pastries! Mom, I can’t wait for you to come and see some of this stuff.

Mind Your Head

7:30am – dingdingdingdingding JUMP OUT OF BED look out the window Yessssssssssssss NO RAIN! A.K.A. FIELD TRIP!! Pump the fists do a dance! Yipeeeee!!!

My English Reformation professor took our class to the Tower of London today. The weather was nice – a little cloudy, but a great day none-the-less. We took a tour from one of the Yeoman (a.k.a. Beefeaters) who permanently lives at the Tower. If you ask me I think that’s a little creepy. Anyway, we saw the dungeon, execution marks, chapels, crown jewels, armor and artillery, and the ravens. There is a superstition that the ravens have to be on the grounds at all times or else the towers will crumble and a great disaster will take place in London. I forget what king it was, but one of them made a rule that 6 ravens must be at the Tower at all times. Our trip was really interesting, but a bit eerie at the same time. Beside the whole execution thing – the crown jewels were BEAUTIFUL! Sorry I don’t have any pictures. They probably would have cut my head off if I took one. Woops. Okay enough. Happy day to all of you.

OOOOOHHH I GOT YOU McCORMICK

Dear Blog World,
My best friend on the face of the planet made fun of me over and over and over again about my little "blog." "How silly" she would say. "Who has that much time on their hands?"
AND NOW . . . . she has crossed over. "Well it was the best way to keep in touch. My computer connection is so slow. It's easier."

IN YOUR FACE MEGGERS!! love you :) haha

Check out Florence! Ciao!

The epitome of being a creeper

I had to do it. I couldn't help myself.

hahaha night night! Sweet dreams!

I SAW THE REAL ROSETTA STONE TODAY!

Okayyyyy call me a huge dork. I don't care one bit. Britt, Kails and I took the tube early this morning to meet up with hot Alex (a.k.a. teacher) at the British Library at 9:30. No problem. We didn't mind leaving the flat at 8:30! Our class saw the "Headliner" exhibit and it was amazing! We even made our own front page newspaper. Then, we were off to the British Museum which was so incredible I may go back about 3 more times . . . at least! It's like walking into Heaven. The ceiling is incredible and I think there should be angles descending from above! Also, I saw the Rosetta Stone! HOW COOL IS THAT? AND I saw part of the frieze on the Parthenon. I had a class at 1:00 so I didn't see much - just the 5 exhibits we needed to see, but I'm going back ASAP. I’ll tell you more stories later.

12 hours of class today - I'm delirious. Love love to everyone.

Pictures: 1.) Rosetta Stone, duh 2.) Inside of the British Museum 3.) British Library - which was BEAUTIFUL 4.) Parthenon sculpture

Just for AlPal

AlPal - This is just for you. Harrods is out of control. It's like I get giddy every single time I walk in (and every single time meaning the two times I've been there). I found the teddy bear room today and instantly thought of you. They are the most cuddly bears in the world. I want you to come and see them for yourself! I MISS YOU SO MUCH! Hope you and Megs are having the time of your life. Come see me soon! I LOVE YOU OH SO VERY MUCH!

Absolute madness

So.... Kailey, Hayles and I went with a rather large group of people to the Absolute Ice Bar in London last night. We got there late so it was a bit of a let down, but at least we get to check it off our list of things we've done. When you walk in they immediately throw a huge cape on you with big gloves attached on the sides. You choose you're little drink (I went for Snice Time) and then you have a walk around the place. It's pretty damn cold in there, but you only get to stay for 45 minutes. I think we were there for about 15. After that we kind of booked it out of there to catch up with our flat mates. They're like family now and for the most part we're always together. I think Hayles and I took the tube about 5 times yesterday. Thank God for the Oyster card (a.k.a. free transportation). We went back into London with the rest of the crew and ended up at some little club which continued to generate 8th grade dance music all night long. I can't even begin to tell you how bad my feet hurt. I hate heels. I don't think I'm going to walk at all today! Anyway, I'm a little homesick today. I miss you all very much! Thanks again for all the comments and emails!! I LOVE THEM! xoxoxox hugs and kisses

FunFabulousFriday

Pretty cool . . .
The mayor of London came up
with this slogan.

Our feet hurt like mad

We're not exactly sure what he's called,
but he stomped his feet and scared the heck out of us.
I'm not sure I'd like this job.

The Ritz - very pretty
